    I'm using this page mostly to put up pictures of my kitplane project. I'm building a Van's Aircraft RV-8. It is a low wing, 2 seat, tandem sport plane that boasts a 200+ MPH cruise. I decided to build when I got fed up with the mostly poor quality and scheduling problems involved in rental aircraft, and I realized I could not afford a production airplane. Here is the aircraft I almost bought:

1978 Decathlon

150hp, 120MPH Cruise

1,000 ft/min rate of climb

Fully aerobatic, if the wooden wing stays attached

Loves expensive parts and mechanics

Here is the aircraft I have decided to build:

200hp, 225MPH cruise

2,700 ft/min climb

Fully aerobatic, all aluminum construction

Now which would you want to fly?
